the eve of the feast of Sant Joan
The eve of the feast of Sant Joan
Tuesday, June 23rd: the eve of the feast of Sant Joan. The night of the summer solstice. It’s a night for purifying energies, of tradition and of sun worship. In other words, a night full of magic.
We began with a moonlitght dinner on the terrace of RCTB 1899, with a healthy menu that was just right for the occasion. To start, a leek puree, mini toasts topped with Iberic ham and delicious shrimp croquettes. Then came a fresh and tasty shrimp and avocado salad, and last, the oven-roasted sea bass, which was spectacular. After a slice of chocolate and basil cake, we of course made a toast with cava and the traditional Sant Joan cake: coca.
The evening was organized by the group which manages Chico, Quillio Bar, and Palique. With this kind of experience, it was clearly a success!
At the tables we were surrounded by good friends and with great new people, too. This all made for a lively party with good vibes.
What I liked most? Enjoying the magical evening under the moonlight on the Real Tennis Club of Barcelona to the rhythm of rumba! Oléee!
The band? Son del Aire, a group made up of Raúl and Dani, two singer-guitarists that gave an enchanting spark to the party. They sing wonderfully and gave the atmosphere an intimate feel.
In short, it was a lovely party with fabulous food, great company and all to the rhythm of Catalan rumba and flamenco. What more could you ask for? Oléee!
