One of the true pleasures of travelling is having the opportunity to discover the gastronomy of the country we are visiting. Eating out at a good restaurant in the city that I visit is a must for me when planning a trip and is a habit that has led me to discover incredible and magical places, such as the Mikla Restaurant in Istanbul.

In the course of my trip to the capital of Turkey last November, we decided to eat out at the Mikla restaurant, one of Istanbul’s finest, where we treated ourselves to incredible alternative cuisine on the top floor of the Marmara Pera hotel. We savoured the traditional Turkish dishes approached from a more modern and fresher angle with the New Anatolia concept in cuisine. A flexible, vivid and dynamic restaurant, whose menu is changed every day and always springs surprises.

We loved everything that the owner of the Mikla restaurant, chef Mehmet Gurs, proposed in his menu. Gurs has justifiably carried off several international cuisine accolades and has become a veritable culinary star in Istanbul. And the Mikla Restaurant has consolidated its status as one of the country’s foremost eateries. A unique establishment, frequented by clients from all over the world every day.

The Mikla Restaurant deserves a visit, not only for its gastronomy, but also for its ambience and decoration.
